New Year, New Video

Hey everyone,

Time for another clip on YouTube! My last post got featured on YouTube's main page, and that led to the clip spreading around the western world to band geeks and music afficianados everywhere (I myself am mostly the former).

So here's a new post, a couple of observations on pop tunes: the theme from Friends and the song Every Morning by Sugar Ray.

I hope you like it, I'll post another in a few weeks!

Yay, Happy New Video!

OK, I've listened to this several times now, and I think I finally have all the words down (the things you have do when you're hearing impaired...listen to things over and over before you've got everything down)! First great job, Rob, I loved it!

I had to go read the lyrics of the Sugar Ray song, and it left me very confused. Not only is the guy a dick for wanting to cheat on his girlfriend and write a song about it, but he's also asking for her permission! Dude thinks his girlfriend's going to be OK with this???

I think it went down like this:

Sugar Ray: "Uh, honey? You know that halo? Yeah, that one, the one you have on the corner of your four poster bed? Could I maybe use it? For, like a weekend? Or, maybe, uh, a one night stand? Would that be OK, sweetie?"

Girlfriend "You ain't playing me! You nuts? NO!"

And then after that the song just plain confuses me, because I can't figure out what the heck really happened. It must contain some really deep messages that nobody understand, except, perhaps, Sugar Ray.

1) Your clips are great, very entertaining.

2) You're going to have your own sitcom one day. Hot wife, two kids, wacky gay neighbor, crazy inlaws.

Hey Rob,

i see you are only receiving praise. Under most circumstances i would try my best to ruin the flow, and yet i can't help but feel that you are funnier than most comedians. Congratulations!

In fact, i've never seen anybody play guitar and be funny simultaneously. It really is a tremendous feat. When I play guitar, I must closely watch my fingers and never speak, let alone deliver a comedy routine with earnest timing.

I'm not sorry at all for what Pachelbel did to your brain, as you have clearly overcome the trauma. Your other YouTube videos are just as entertaining. So fuck you for being so good.

-Visit Southern California :)

-Also, please don't get your own sitcom. Unless it's like, HBO or something. In which case, good job.

Don't visit those places! *tuts mockingly* visit England!
I got hooked on your stuff when I saw Pachelbel Rant on YouTube, and now, I'm a proud subscriber to the PodCast, and I even ordered your Chicago DVD! ^_^ Should be here any day now...
But seriously: VISIT ENGLAND!!!
*sings "Pachelbel" merrily to self*

Hey Rob,
This is a very good piece. I've told quite a few people about it, so expect more hits. I've started to like it thanks to you, oops ;-).
Soooooo, when are you coming to London? MAKE IT SOON!!!!

I saw your pachelbel from my friend (as we are both band geeks) and it made me want to hear more. This was amazing, and I am now hooked to your comedy. Great Job! :)

Oh..and you should definitely come to Quinnipiac University!

Very nice, very nice. You're getting really good feedback from here in Singapore. And yea, I agree. Ignore lyrics (but then again you'll mostly hear cords then. The same chords. Over and over again... you wonder why I avoid most modern rock music)

I was also introduced to your routines through Pachelbel's Rant. I thought it was absolutely hilarious, and all of my friends have really enjoyed watching it as well. ^_^

I honestly think that this new video may be even funnier. O_o I particularly appreciated the reference to Cops at the end. Please keep up the fantastic work - I love listening to your material!
